Damage prevention is the whole game
Modules are glass. The dominant loss driver is handling and stacking damage, not theft or weather. Most panel pallets have a manufacturer-specified maximum stack height, and exceeding it, or stacking mismatched pallet types, produces microcracks that do not show up until the modules are flash-tested or installed.

- Keep pallets upright and oriented as shipped; never lay vertical packs flat.
- Avoid repeated re-handling; each move adds risk.
- Photograph pallet and banding condition at de-vanning.
Import surges and temporary storage
Panels frequently land in waves of dozens of containers. Temporary warehouse capacity absorbs the wave, releases the ocean containers, and stops demurrage and per diem from accumulating while the project schedule catches up. Plan capacity against the peak container week, not the monthly average.
Long-term storage
When projects slip, modules can sit for months. Long-term storage should be indoor, dry, off-floor where practical, away from dock doors that cycle open, and organized so that pallets are not repeatedly shuffled. Keep serial-number-level records by pallet, because warranty and commissioning both depend on knowing which modules went where.
Warehouse requirements
Solar storage is footprint-hungry but not weight-intensive. The practical requirements are clean dry floor space, sufficient dock capacity to unload a container wave quickly, adequate lighting for condition inspection, and equipment operators who understand that a pallet of modules is not a pallet of boxes.

Transloading and project-site release
Transloading near the port converts ocean containers into truckloads sized for site delivery. Sites typically cannot accept an entire container run at once, so scheduled release against the installation plan is the normal operating pattern.
